How To Land Your Dream Job
Having trouble finding a job? Disappointed with the job you currently have? Feel like you’re destined to doing something else? Well LinkedIn (LNKD) is here to help. Last June, the company rolled out an iOS app specifically tailored to help disgruntled workers land their dream job. Almost a year later, LinkedIn has now released the app for Android users as an entirely redeveloped platform. Now all LinkedIn users can, from their mobile devices, initiate and filter job searches.
On its website, LinkedIn claims “applicants who apply to job opportunities on the first day they’re posted are 10% more likely to land the job.” Moreover, LinkedIn’s status as the premiere professional “social network” uniquely positions the company to successfully connect job seekers and employers. Not only is the app well intentioned, but it also includes several key features that aid workers in finding new and fulfilling jobs.
The Job Search app (for iOS and Android) includes a customizable search option that allows users to indicate their areas of interest. Furthermore, advanced search options enable individuals to explore job openings based on geographic locations and seniority. Your LinkedIn profile and search history serve as key criteria for LinkedIn recommendations, specifically when companies post new job opportunities in related fields. Given the app is directly integrated with your LinkedIn profile, users can also easily submit their credentials with the click of a button; and don’t worry about offending your current employer, the Job Search app is completely confidential. All application submissions are kept private from your network.
In a time when social media reigns supreme, LinkedIn has made it easier for Millennials to find worthwhile jobs. We undoubtedly live in a quick and mobile world, and LinkedIn has taken massive steps to satisfy consumer demands. In our current economic state, it is not easy for college graduates to find full-time positions. In fact, many have become disgruntled by the fact that their college educations have failed to create economic opportunities. While this app does not guarantee job security, it succeeds in streamlining traditional application processes. LinkedIn, as a company, has become so intertwined with the business world that it is now a top employment agency. So, why not download the app and allow LinkedIn to shower you with job offers?
